Responsibilities:
• Perform thorough inspections of detention center facilities to identify pest infestations and areas of concern.
• Develop and implement effective pest management strategies tailored to the unique needs of a detention environment.
• Utilize various pesticides, insecticides, and methods to exterminate pests, ensuring the safety and health of all individuals within the facility.
• Collaborate closely with detention center staff to coordinate pest control efforts while adhering to safety protocols.
• Keep accurate records of pest control activities, including treatments applied, pest sightings, and recommendations for prevention.
• Train and educate detention center staff on best practices for pest prevention and control.
• Complete a full detention academy to understand the operational and security aspects of the facility.
• Maintain compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to pest control and pesticide application.
• Provide clear and concise communication regarding pest control procedures to all stakeholders.

About the Role

• Proven experience in eradicating bed bugs, roaches, mice, and other pests within detention or similar environments.
• Valid pesticide applicator license or certification.
• Completion of a full detention academy or willingness to complete the training program.
• Strong knowledge of pest control products, tools, and techniques.
• Ability to work effectively in a secure and controlled environment, including potential contact with incarcerated individuals.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt pest control strategies to changing conditions.
• Demonstrated commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
• Physical fitness and stamina required for regular movement and inspections within the detention center.
• Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours as needed.
