About the Role

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Inspects building daily to determine needed repairs.
· Investigates, diagnoses, performs, documents, and completes work orders.
· Maintains building, performing minor and routine repairs and preventative maintenance.
· Troubleshoots and repairs cell doors, locks, sliders, light fixtures, grid ceilings, air handling units, equipment, piping, valves, filters, etc.
· Patches concrete and paints.
· Notifies management concerning need for major repairs or additions to lighting, heating, and ventilating equipment.
· Develop creative solutions for unique issues.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: May supervise inmate trustees.
• Experience - NONE REQUIRED
• PREFERRED: HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, ICON Water Management, Siemens Desigo, Boiler License, Steam
MUST ALSO COMPLETE DETENTION CENTER ACADEMY!!!!

Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications Required

    • Must be 18 years of age

    • A high school diploma or equivalent

    • Must have a valid driver’s license

    • Complete/pass a background check and drug screening

    • Complete 5 week detention academy training (academics and physical training i.e. defensive tactics, OC spray, etc.)

    • No felony conviction

    • Ability to work in a loud and sometimes chaotic environment

    • Available to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, or other special shifts
