OKLAHOMA COUNTY CRIMINAL JUST AUTHORITY
CONTRACTS WITH LEXIPOL FOR NEW POLICIES

OKLAHOMA CITY (May 9, 2022) – Oklahoma County Detention Center staff are responsible for ensuring facility safety and security, providing proper inmate supervision, and accurately reporting on operations. While making well-informed decisions can be difficult in high-risk situations, the facility is now working to build comprehensive policies backed by training to ensure a consistent and effective response from all personnel. Recently, the Oklahoma County Criminal Justice Authority contracted to develop a new policy manual with the assistance of Lexipol, the nation’s leading content, policy, and training platform for corrections agencies. The new policies will help OCDC staff enhance response to challenging situations, operating in accordance with federal and state laws and best practices. Lexipol will provide the OCDC with more than 155 state-specific policies for high-risk operations that are continuously updated to meet changes in laws and court rulings. The new manual will be delivered through an online platform, so officers can access the department’s policies at any time while on duty. “These policies will provide a foundation for uniform response among staff and will save our agency time and money we’ve previously spent trying to create and maintain policies,” says Greg Williams, CEO Oklahoma County Detention Center. Along with the new policies, officers can complete real-world, scenario-based Daily Training Bulletins that help ensure policy accountability, application and understanding.
