JAIL RECEIVES HIGHEST APPROVAL RATING FOR FIRE SYSTEM
OKLAHOMA CITY (March 22, 2022) – The Oklahoma County Detention Center’s (OCDC) emergency fire system is now green tagged and certified by Johnsons Controls Inc. Having a green tag means the fire system is in full compliance with appropriate National Fire Protection Association standards. This is the first time the system has had a green tagged since 2018. “This is a significant and important achievement for the jail and the county,” said Greg Williams, CEO of the Oklahoma County Detention Center. “Having the fire system in complete compliance has been a goal since the Jail Trust took over operations in 2020. The green tag is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our staff and independent contractors, and we now know the jail is much safer for detainees and staff.” A green tag compliance helps maximize system integrity to avoid failure and ensure fast, effective response in a fire emergency.
