Jail Issues Statement Regarding Former Detention Officer Charged

OKLAHOMA CITY (Nov. 2, 2022) – Today, the District Attorney filed charges against former detention officer Dominique Thomas and several detainees stemming from an assault that occurred October 10, 2021. On October 19, 2021, Thomas was terminated. “The jail does not tolerate mistreatment of detainees or people who fail to follow the law. We are committed to holding employees accountable for their actions,” said Greg Williams, CEO of the Oklahoma County Jail. “Upon a thorough investigation of the incident, we terminated Officer Thomas and recommended charges to the District Attorney’s office.” About the Oklahoma County Criminal Justice Authority The Oklahoma County Criminal Justice Authority operates the Oklahoma County Detention Center.
