INVESTIGATION AFTER DETAINEE FOUND OUTSIDE FACILITY

OKLAHOMA CITY (October 29, 2021) – At 8:26 Friday morning, a detainee working as a trustee breached the perimeter of the detention center. The detainee had just finished helping unload a food truck at the back loading dock in the maintenance area on the west side of the jail. When the truck drove out the back gate the detainee walked past the gate as it was closing. The detainee was stopped a couple blocks away by a detention officer. The officer placed the detainee into custody and brought the detainee back to the facility. It is currently unknown if the detainee was attempting to escape or trying to retrieve contraband to bring back to the detention center. The investigation is ongoing.
