INMATE DIES WHILE HOSPITALIZED

OKLAHOMA CITY (September 15, 2021) – An Oklahoma County Detention Center detainee died at the hospital on Tuesday, September 14, 2021. Leo Alexander Destea (DOB 5/20/1960) had been in the hospital since August 30, 2021 for health-related issues. Last evening, Mr. Destea passed away at the hospital. Mr. Destea was booked into the jail on July 27, 2021. His family has been notified. The State Medical Examiner’s Office will make a final determination as to the cause of death.
