OKLAHOMA CITY (March 28, 2022) – At approximately 2 a.m. on Monday, March 28, a detention officer performing site checks discovered an unresponsive detainee in a cell at the Oklahoma County Detention Center. The detainee was lying on his bunk and was not responding to the detention officer’s commands. Staff immediately began life-saving measures. EMSA paramedics and Oklahoma City Fire personnel arrived and continued those efforts, but they were not successful in reviving the detainee. Dustin Revas, who was born on Oct. 19, 1995, was booked into the facility March 23, 2022. Revas’ cell mate reported Revas had been experiencing digestive symptoms but refused offers to use the phone to call for medical attention. A detention officer reported speaking briefly with Revas during a routine site check at approximately 11 p.m. Sunday evening. The State Medical Examiner’s Office will make a final determination as to the cause of death.
