DETAINEE DEATH INVESTIGATION

OKLAHOMA CITY (December 26, 2021) – At 4:20 Sunday morning, a detainee was discovered attempting suicide in his cell. The detainee, Gabriel Yalartai (D.O.B. 03/10/1981), was booked into the detention center December 8, 2020. After being discovered, staff and medical personnel began life saving efforts. However, those efforts were unsuccessful. An investigation is ongoing. The State Medical Examiner’s Office will make a final determination as to the cause of death.
