DEATINEE DEATH REPORTED AT
OKLAHOMA COUNTY JAIL

OKLAHOMA CITY (Dec. 22, 2022) – At approximately 9:40 p.m. Wednesday, Oklahoma County Detention Center staff responded to a call from central control to perform a welfare check on detainee Luis Gonzalez, who was being cared for on the medical floor. When Detention Officers arrived, Gonzalez was not responsive. They immediately began life-saving measures. Oklahoma City Fire emergency responders arrived quickly. They pronounced Gonzalez deceased at 9:58 p.m. Gonzalez, who was born on Oct. 22, 1983, was booked into the detention center Dec. 11, 2022. His family has been notified. The State Medical Examiner’s Office will make a final determination as to the cause of death. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations has also been notified.
