CEO OF OKLAHOMA COUNTY JAIL ISSUES STATEMENT
REGARDING HEALTH DEPARTMENT INSPECTION

OKLAHOMA CITY (June 3, 2022) – Oklahoma County Detention Center CEO Greg Williams offered the following statement regarding an inspection performed by the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH). “The most recent inspection report from OSDH makes one thing clear: health and safety conditions at the Oklahoma County Jail continue to improve. Since the Jail Trust took over operations, we have vastly improved many systems and procedures in the facility, which has helped reduce instances of problems such as cells without hot water, triple-celling and drainage issues,” Williams said. “We continue to increase staff to ensure the safety and security of everyone within the jail, and we have implemented multiple tactics to prevent contraband from coming into the building,” he said. “As noted in the report, some areas still have room for improvement, and we still face structural deficiencies with the building. Our team is preparing a plan to address the remaining issues outlined in the report with the funding currently available.” “With the help of our leadership and community support, we remain committed to providing the safest and most efficient facility possible for our detainees and staff," he said.
